Ralph David Koglin, age 75 of La Crosse, died Thursday February 6, 2020. Ralph David Koglin, 75, transitioned peacefully to his eternal home with his Lord on February 6, 2020, in La Crosse, WI. He was born in Cokato, MN, on June 8, 1944, to Reynold and Vera Randall Koglin, the youngest of two children. After graduating from Cokato High School, he attended Bethel College and St. Paul Bible College. He served in the United States Air Force from 1966 to 1970. He married Sharon Schenk in 1966. He became the proud father of two sons, Andrew in 1969 and David in 1971. Although he and Sharon divorced later, they have remained close friends. He married Bonnie Schilling Evans in 1987 and became stepfather to her daughter, Heather. They enjoyed 32 happy years of marriage together. He was Account and Budget Supervisor at the County of La Crosse, followed by 25 years as Payroll Manager at Dairyland Power, retiring from there in 2005. He looked forward to going to work on Monday morning. He also operated his own tax and accounting business. He was a man of his word who treated people with integrity and respect. Ralph was a quiet man whose relationship with Jesus positively impacted all aspects of his life, including his family, friendships, career, and service to others. He was involved in the ministry of Olivet Beacon of Light Lutheran Church in La Crosse. He was an active member of Gideons International and served as a treasurer for many years. Ralph was a kind and loyal man who valued spending time with friends and studying the word of the Lord. He enjoyed his frequent visits with his cherished sister, Jan. Ralph also had a passion for biking, reading, fishing, drawing, and board games, especially Scrabble. He liked spending time getting coffee at McDonald's or browsing at Barnes and Noble. As a young boy, Ralph developed his life-long love of biking. The first time he rode a recumbent bike in his 60s, he discovered a source of joy that lasted the rest of his life. Surviving Ralph are his beloved wife, Bonnie Jean Schilling Koglin; his sister, Janice (Ronald) Oestreich; sons, Andrew and David Koglin; stepdaughter, Heather (Ronald) Nokken, grandchildren Megan (Craig) Wurzel, Rachel, Sarah, Jesse, Jeremy, and Chris Nokken, great-granddaughter Emma Wurzel, nieces Elizabeth (Todd) Snyder and Rebecca (Tim) Keightley, close friend Sharon Koglin, and a large extended family. Ralph wanted to thank the wonderful doctors and medical staff who cared for him during his times in the hospital. He also wanted his loved ones to know how much he appreciated their love and presence in his life. Celebration of Ralphs Life will be held Monday, February 10, 2020, 4:00 p.m. at Olivet Lutheran Church in La Crosse, Wisconsin. Family and friends are invited for visitation on Monday from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at the church. Memorials are preferred to Gideons International.
