Randolph W. Constalie, 94 of Westby, died Sunday, April 27, 2014. Rand was born in Westby, WI in December of 1919 to Vick and Christine (Larson) Constalie, to them two children were born: Stanley (Stan) and Randolph. The late Stanley had a son, Fredrick (Fred). Fred has a son Robert (Bob) and a daughter, Jenny. On May 15th, 1942 Rand married Eileen Sloan of Balaton, Minnesota. They had two children, the late Bruce Constalie and Annette Easterday. He served forty-four months in the Navy with three years of duty in the South Pacific. He was a partner in the Mechanical Contracting firm of Constalie Plumbing Co. Inc., He also was a published author, having produced numerous magazine articles and authored the following books: A Breed Apart, Country Law, Ragged Riches and For the Love of Mike. He also wrote many essays. Rand was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and a friend to many. He is survived by his daughter, Annette Easterday; daughter-in-law, Janice Constalie; granddaughters: Kristen (Travis) Cowden, Karen (Jason) DeLap, Tracy (Rob) Budworth and Michelle (Chris) Walkowicz; great-grandchildren: Henry Walkowicz, Taylor Cowden, Scott Cowden, Kameron DeLap and Keira DeLap, babyboy Budworth due in Aug; a special family friend, Mariane Weidenbach; nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Eileen on June 23, 2002; son, Bruce on April 17, 2008, his brother and sister-in-law, Stanley and Pauline Constalie and his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Alton and Lorraine Sloan. Funeral service will be Thursday, May 1, 2014 at 1:00 pm at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Westby, with Pastor John Dumke officiating. Interment will follow in Our Saviors Lutheran Cemetery in Rural Westby. Visitation will be from 12:00 noon until the time of the service on Thursday at the Church. In lieu of flowers and plants, memorials are preferred to the Bethel Butikk, Our Saviors Lutheran Church or to a charity of donors choice. The Vosseteig Funeral Home of Westby is serving the family.
