Randy A. Sidie

Randy A. Sidie, age 60, of Viroqua, passed away on Monday, February 13, 2023, at the Mayo Hospital in La Crosse. Randy was born on July 1, 1962, in Viroqua to Larry and Sharon (Nicks) Sidie. Randy graduated from the La Farge High School in 1980. Following his graduation, he farmed for a while before moving to Madison. While in Madison, he managed three Citgo gas station at the same time. He also worked at USA Today in Las Vegas. Randy met Verlyn Hanson in 1990 and they married on November 12, 2014, in Waukon, Iowa. Randy and Verlyn lived in Las Vegas before moving to Viroqua. He had a special cat named Babe. Randy was known as a jokester and was great at making people believe everything he said. He also enjoyed flowers, gardening and was a great baker.

Survivors include his husband, Verlyn Hanson; his mom, Sharon (Gary) Nicks; his sister, Tamara (Guy) Nelson; a niece, Starr Nelson; great-niece, Payson Onshus; his uncle, Larry Hirschfield; his stepchildren, Adam Hanson, Nicole (Jeremy) Hanson, Trisha Hanson, and Shaun (Heather) Hanson; 15 grandchildren; several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; other relatives and friends.

Randy was preceded in death by his father, Larry Sidie; his brother, Wade Sidie; his nephew, Preston Nelson; his father-in-law, Charles Nicks; his aunts, DeeAnn Hase and Dolly Howell; his grandparents; and his loving cat, Babe.

Memorials to the family are appreciated.

A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 18, 2023, at Vosseteig-Larson Funeral Home in Viroqua. Visitation will be held from Noon until the time of the service. Randy will be laid to rest at the Viroqua Cemetery. Online Condolences may be expressed at www.vossfh.com.
