Randy Scott Heisel

February 20, 1956 — July 8, 2022

Randy Scott Heisel, age 66, of La Farge, WI, passed away on Friday, July 8, 2022, at Gundersen Health System in La Crosse, WI, surrounded by family. He was born on February 20, 1956 to Ernest “Ernie” and Agnes “Teenie” (Hepburn) Heisel and grew up on the family farm near Rockton, WI. Randy married Romelle Janecek on July 25, 1981. They were blessed with two children, Katee Heisel of Viola and Tanner Heisel of Illinois. Randy was actively involved in his children’s school activities from elementary through high school. He patiently helped both boys and girls sports (basketball, baseball, softball) as they grew up from Saturday elementary days and middle/high school. He coached, encouraged, and helped along with others the La Farge School with many projects. A few projects were replacing the gym floor at the school and new girls softball field. Randy attended school initially in Rockton, WI, in early grades and then transferred to La Farge Schools. He was active in sports and loved cars. He began work at an early age on the farm (milking, haying, tobacco, etc…). He worked for Preston Sales & Service initially in Union Center, WI and eventually transferred to the Sparta, WI location. Randy worked for the Vernon County Sheriff’s Dept. and also for the village of La Farge Police. He formed many friendships during this time that continue to remain close. Randy eventually moved into field representative for Tri-State Milk and then Swiss Valley & Prairie Farms. He retired in 2021. He was a member of the Rockton Sportsman’s Club and served on the Village Board in La Farge for many years. Randy loved to be outside, whether hunting, fishing, and was beginning to develop his skills as a woodworker/craftsman; making many tables, benches, and planter boxes. His latest adventure was a pumpkin patch with his daughter on the farm. We are going to have many pumpkins this fall. Survivors include his wife, Romelle; two children, Katee and Tanner; his sister, Kay (David) Mick of Rockton; as well as many nieces, nephews, friends, and family. He was preceded in death by his father and mother. Randy wanted to have his life celebrated and would not want any crying. He would relish sharing of his life with stories and laughter instead. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 23, 2022, at the Rockton Cemetery. A celebration of his life will follow from 2 – 5 p.m. at Rockton Bar. Online Condolences may be expressed at www.vossfh.com. The entire family would like to thank all who cared for Randy during the past few weeks of his life and before. We are truly blessed. Vosseteig Funeral Home & Crematory in La Farge is serving Randy's family. 203 N. State St. La Farge, WI 54639 608-625-4244
