Raymond A. Wedwick

Raymond A. Wedwick, age 84, passed away peacefully at Gundersen Health System on June 23, 2024, just one day shy of his 85th birthday. He was born on June 24, 1939, to Peter and Lois (Cox) Wedwick. He grew up on Dach Ridge and attended Viroqua High School. He married Marilyn Gardner on October 26, 1963, and raised his family south of Viroqua. He drove cement truck for La Crosse Ready Mix and River City Ready Mix of Westby. Raymond was soft spoken and kind, an observer and a man of few words unless he was comfortable with you. The twinkle in his eye, his humor, and smile will be missed.

Survivors include his children, Kristi (Craig) Fortun and Corey (Jana Wedwick); grandchildren Alicia (Mike Beerkircher) Oliver, Emily Fortun (Bobby Stump), Keegan Wedwick, Brandon Wedwick, Andrew Wedwick, Steven Wedwick, and Dylan Wedwick; sister-in-law Susie Wedwick; nephews Craig (Roxy) Wedwick and Brad (Annette) Wedwick, other relatives and friends.

Raymond was preceded in death by his parents; his mother-in-law Myrtle Gardner; father-in-law Alvin Gardner, Sr; wife Marilyn; son Mark; brother Maynard Wedwick; nephew Kurt Wedwick; great nephew Justin Wedwick; brother-in-law Alvin Gardner, Jr; and brother-in-law Kelly Gardner.

Visitation will be held Saturday, June 29, 2024, at Vosseteig-Larson Funeral Home in Viroqua from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM with a brief prayer service at 12:00 PM and lunch following. Raymond will be laid to rest at the Viroqua Cemetery. Online Condolences may be expressed at www.vossfh.com.
