Raymond Hart, 78, of Viroqua died on Thursday, March 28, 2013 Raymond Hart, 78, of Viroqua died on Thursday, March 28, 2013 at Vernon Memorial Hospital. He was born August 26, 1934, at WaKeeney, Kansas to Dustin and Midia Hart. The family moved to Colorado in 1936. Raymond attended high school at Fort Morgan, Colorado, where he participated in football and other sports. For several years he worked as a "roughneck" at various oil well drilling sites. He was married, had two sons, and was later divorced. On May 28, 1965, he married Delene Lane from Minnesota. They had two children, Rachel and Daniel. Ray learned to weld and advanced to supervisory positions while employed by Eaton Metal Company in Denver, fabricating steel tanks. In 1974 he was transferred to their Salt Lake facility as plant superintendent. In 1977, Ray moved his family to a dairy farm near Genoa, where he farmed until his retirement. While farming, he did repair work for area farmers using his portable welder. He and Delene moved to Viroqua in 2010. He is survived by his wife, Delene; sons Rocky (Barbara) Hart of Canyon Country, CA, Michael (Denise) Hart of Lancaster, CA, and Daniel (Rebecca) Hart of Minneapolis; daughter Rachel (Joe) Schroeder of Chaseburg; grandchildren Talon (Allison), Mercadise, Brock, and Kaitlin; brother Leo (Nancy) Hart of Orchard, CO; brother-in-law Darwin Helzer of Fort Morgan, CO; several aunts and uncles, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Le Roy Hart; sister Dorothy Helzer; and sister-in-law Shirley Hart. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 3, 2013 at Bad Axe Lutheran Church, rural Viroqua. Pastor Donald Greven will officiate with burial to follow in the church Cemetery. Friends may call on Tuesday from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Vosseteig-Larson Funeral Home, 123 W. Decker St (hwy 56), in Viroqua. Friends may also call at the church on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at 11. In lieu of flowers and plants memorial contributions may be made to the Bad Axe Lutheran Church or a charity of donors choice. The Vosseteig-Larson Funeral Home of Viroqua is serving the family.
