Raymond “Ray” P. Knoble, age 94, of Seneca passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 28, 2022, surrounded by his family. He was born on November 13, 1927, to the late Michael and Famie (Hammerly) Knoble in Crawford County, Wisconsin. Raymond honorably served in the United States Army and was on active duty during the Korean War. After a long career at 3M, Ray happily enjoyed 30 plus years of retirement by doing the things he loved most: enjoying family and friends. He spent a lifetime of parade events with his antique cars and trucks. Ray had a great passion for spending time outside in his vegetable gardens. He spent most of his life traveling to go polka dancing; Ray would dance with anyone and everyone. Raymond was known as the Crawford County Polka Legend. Ray's friendly smile and great sense of humor will be missed by many. Ray is survived by his children: Donna Laufer of McGregor, IA, Larry (Lynn) Knoble of Sugar Grove, IL, Lonnie (Lanny) Knoble of Damascus, OR, LaVern Knoble of Wolf Point, MT, and Konie Walz of Boscobel, WI; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Lois (Haskins) Knoble; his son, Michael Knoble; special friends, Joan and Bev; and his siblings: Joseph, Henry, Harold, and infant David. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family would be put towards community donations in his memory. Raymond’s family would like to thank Prairie Maison Staff for their compassionate care towards their father. A funeral service will be held Sunday, July 31, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. at Vosseteig Funeral Home in Gays Mills. A visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until time of service. Raymond will be laid to rest at the Gays Mills Cemetery with military honors to follow.
