Regina Jean Martin

Regina "Jean" Martin, age 74 of Ferryville, died Saturday, June 30, 2007. Regina J. Martin, age 74, died June 30, 2007 at her home in Ferryville, WI. She was born January 21, 1933 in Chicago, IL to John and Anna Simkus. In 1950 she graduated from St. Anns High School in Chicago. Regina married James F. Martin on March 7, 1953. Together they raised four children in the Detroit, MI and Chicago, IL areas. In 1978 they bought land and built their retirement home in Ferryville, WI. In 1983 they retired and moved to Ferryville. Jean loved caring for her family, her many pets, horses, and gardens. She is survived by her children: Scott (Fay) Martin, Karen Korando, Francine McCormick, Jim (Judy) Martin; Grandchildren: Andrew Korando, Renee Martin, Sarah Martin, Jim Martin, and Bradley Martin. She is further survived by four great-grandchildren and her brother, John (Maryanne) Simkus. Jean was preceded in death by her parents; James, her loving husband of 52 years; and her son-in-law, Steven Korando. Private family services will be held at a later date. The Vosseteig-Larson Funeral Home of DeSoto is serving the family.
