Richard "Dick" Coleman, 72, of Readstown died suddenly on Wednesday, May 12, 2010. Richard "Dick" Coleman, 72, of Readstown died suddenly on Wednesday, May 12, 2010 at the Vernon Memorial Hospital in Viroqua. He was born on August 4, 1937 in Gays Mills to George and Delia (Callaway) Coleman. He served in the U.S. Navy. On August 8, 1961 he married Lois Mae Alexander in South Dakota. Dick was a farmer for 25 years in Readstown and enjoyed coon and ginseng hunting, his coffee, and spending time with his family. He was also an ironworker and picked apples.Richard is survived by his five children: Jeff Coleman of Readstown, Dianne (Doug Geddes) Coleman of Readstown, Ronda (Todd) Swanson of Dodgeville, Sally (Dan) Miller of Ontario, and Scotty Coleman of Readstown; 11 grandchildren: Kaylin Collins, Kali Coleman, Krystal Coleman, Jena Oliphant, Cody Fortney, Cole Geddes, Jesse Geddes, Jessica Swanson, Joshua Swanson, Josie Swanson, and Sklyor Miller; four great-grandchildren; one sister, Darleen Johnston: two brothers: Larry (Janet) Coleman and Darold (Bonnie) Coleman; sister-in-law, Dollie Coleman; also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Lois on February 12, 2008; step-father, Ernest Dobbs; and one brother, Victor. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 15, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at the Dommersnaes-Bertram Funeral Home in Gays Mills. Pastor Greg Cliff will officiate with burial in the Readstown Cemetery. Friends may call on Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. The Dommersnaes-Bertram Family Funeral Home of Gays Mills is serving the family.
