Richard "Dick" Lee Roberg, 87 of La Crosse and formerly of Viroqua, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 17th, 2014 surrounded by family. He died on the 22nd anniversary of the passing of his son, Jeffrey Roberg. He was born on June 12, 1926 in Viroqua, Wisconsin. Throughout his life he had many jobs and loved working: the Viroqua Dairy for 23 years; Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Viroqua for 14 years; Viroqua Ice Skating Rink for 14 years simultaneously with the church; and 14 years at the Wonder Wash in Viroqua during the winters and at the Viroqua Hills Golf Course during the summers. He was also a proud member of the Viroqua Eagles FOE 2707 for 55 years. Dick met his wife of 65 years, Agnes Jean Roberg (Doxrud), at the Purdy Community Club while dancing their hearts away. The two were married on April 28th, 1949. Dick enjoyed playing golf, watching sports, dancing, playing cards with family and friends, vacationing "up north" Wisconsin, traveling the country, and any activities with his grandkids. In addition to his wife, Agnes; Dick is survived by: a son, Adrian (Kathleen) Roberg; a daughter, Shawn (Chuck) Dutchin; and three grandchildren, Hannah Roberg, Alex Dutchin, and Kelsey Dutchin. He is proceeded in death by: a son, Jeffrey Roberg; a brother, Jerald Roberg; three sisters in infancy; and his parents, Robert (Jack) Roberg and Julia Roberg (Skrede). Funeral service will be Wednesday, May 21, 2014 at 11:00 am at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Viroqua Pastor Kathryn Ingbritsen will officiate. Visitation will be from 9:30 am until the time of the service on Wednesday at the church. Interment will follow in the Viroqua Cemetery.
