Rita Clark, age 88 of Viroqua, died Tuesday, November 9, 2010. Rita M. Clark, 88 of Viroqua, died Tuesday evening, November 9, 2010. She was born September 12, 1922 to William and Blanche (Leahy) Johnston. On June 30, 1942 she was united in marriage to Bernard Joseph Clark at St. James Catholic Church, Rising Sun.Rita worked at the Tobacco Pool Warehouse in Viroqua, the Garment Factory in LaCrosse and later retired from N.C.R. in Viroqua.Rita loved spending time with her family and to camp and travel with her husband. She also enjoyed playing cards, bingo, knitting, crocheting, dancing, and was a hard worker throughout her life. Rita was also a member of St. Marys Catholic Church in Viroqua. She is survived by eight children, Rose Campton of Viroqua, Ed (Linda) Clark of Westby, Meg (Buck) Travnick of Wonewoc, Wis., Madonna Buros (Gary Everson) of Soldiers Grove, Wis., Jim (Moira) Clark of Westby, Evie (Steve) Larson of Westby, Carol (Randy) Anderson of Westby, Diane (Phil) Hewitt of Viroqua; 31 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren; three sister-in-laws, Alberta Clark of La Crosse, Evelyn Johnston of Muscoda, Wis. Mary Pedretti of Janesville; as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Bernard on June 24, 2006; her parents; father and mother in-law, James and Dorothy (LePage) Clark; brothers: Donald Johnston, Phillip Johnston Eulogius Johnston; sisters: Evelyn Hoff, Margaret Harter, Marcella Crowley; three brother-in-laws; one sister-in-law; son-in-law Ron Buros; and grandchildren: Bobby Campton, Cody Hewitt, Amanda Clark, Stacie Larson and Jerry Mikkelson. Blessed be our memory of Rita Mae Clark. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 13, 2010 at St. Marys Catholic Church in Viroqua. Father Robert J. Cook will celebrate the Mass with burial in the Viroqua Cemetery. Friends may call on Friday at the Vosseteig Funeral Home, 708 S. Main, in Westby from 4-7 p.m. Friends may also call at the church on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service at 10:30. In lieu of flowers or plants, memorials are preferred. The Vosseteig Funeral Homes of Viroqua and Westby are serving the family.
