Robert Coe

Robert "Bob" Coe, age 75, of Gays Mills died at home on Friday, October 4, 2024. He started and spent most of his life in Crawford County. After a couple tours in the US Navy and some time working on trains around the Midwest he returned to his home area.

Since coming home, he spent his spare time reading or watching games and visiting friends and family. They’d go fishing, hunting, trapping, mushrooming, picking ginseng, shooting pool, and too many other things to list here.

His family and friends (who were all family to him) were always there for him just as he was there for them. He could get a bit crotchety at times (10 on a scale of 0 to 10) but he loved to laugh and share, and he always had our backs, and always wanted to do the right thing. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and a sister. He is survived by a sister, two nieces and a nephew.

His remaining friends and family will hold a graveside service at the Kast Cemetery north of Gays Mills at 11:00 am on Tuesday, October 15, 2024. The service will be followed by a potluck gathering to share memories at the Backroads Church in Mount Zion.

In lieu of flowers please bring your stories or a dish to share. Bob was a dedicated visitor to the Gays Mills Public Library and supporter of the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation and would appreciate donations to any of those organizations.
