Robert E. Kelly, age 94 of Viroqua, died Tuesday, October 2, 2007 Robert E. (Bob) Kelly, age 94 entered the home of the Lord on October 2, 2007. Bob was born September 12, 1913 to Robert and Emma (Flagg) Kelly. After graduating high school, he jointed the Army where he trained and worked as an engineer. He was a decorated soldier with an honorable discharge. He was in four invasions in the Philippines: Leyte, New Guinea, Manila, and Luzon. He received the Bronze star and other various service medals for his accomplishments.Bob enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping, and hunting rattle snakes. He also enjoyed a big meal with the whole family, and loved having company.Bob was a very hard worker. He worked in construction for 17 years, and enjoyed farming. On May 21, 1949 he married Barbara Hadley in Freeport, Ill.Bob is survived by "10 beautiful children" as he would often say, and he had a special nickname for each one: Carrol and (Bob) Hawley of California; David (Bunker) and Pam Kelly of Viola; Fred (Tinkie) and Gloria Kelly of Antigo; Suzanne (Suzanna) Kelly of Viroqua; Tonja (Pretty Bird) Kelly of Stoddard; Greg (Greggy) and Kris Kelly of Janesville; Kim (Kimishka) Kelly of Viroqua; Scott (Skinflint) and Tiffany Kelly of Beloit; Julie (Julie Babe) Kelly of Readstown; Lisa (Weesie Babe) and Bob Wagner of Viola. Bob is further survived by one brother and three sisters: Leroy, Adeline, Carolyn, and June, and numerous nieces, nephews, and in-laws.He was preceded in death by three grandchildren: Treston Crystal, Wyatt Wagner, and Natylee Geary; his parents; five sisters: Kitty, Ann Lou, Mary Jane, Francis, Agnes; and two brothers: Donald and Clarence.A Memorial Celebration of Life will be held from 2-6 p.m. on Saturday, October 20th at the Readstown Advancement Building in Readstown.
