Robert Killian Guck, 85, of Viroqua died Saturday, November 10, 2012. Robert Killian Guck, 85, of Viroqua died Saturday, November 10, 2012, at his home surrounded by his family. Robert was born on September 4, 1927, in Fairview to Bernard K and Agnes (Moldrem) Guck. After graduating from high school he was united in marriage to Gloria Clott. Robert led a very active life and was involved in many organizations. He was Scoutmaster to Boy Scout Troop 75 as well as Cub Scout Pack 9, he served in the Wisconsin National Guard, and for many years starting in 1977 was a special deputy to the Vernon County Sherriff and a special police officer for the City of Viroqua. Bob was employed by the Viroqua Area Schools, working as a custodian for 28 years. Following his work for the school Bob and Gloria operated Bobs Cleaners for many years, Bobs Grocery for a short time, and Glorias Fashions for 27 years. Bob and his pal Brownie loved to sing and entertain at local rest homes. He sang at many funerals and church services and was also a very active member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. He was a charter member of the church "Men at Work" group, was a trustee of the church council and was also chairman of the property committee for a time. He was church bus driver for many years. Bob was also a member of Sentimental Singers and was instrumental in forming the Senior Citizens Center. Robert is survived by Gloria, his friend and partner for 65 years; his daughter Lisa Marie; granddaughter Kimberly; great-grandchildren Macy and Braylon; sister Arlene (Clayton) Warren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his son Robert Lyle Guck. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 14, 2012 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. The Rev. Lindsay Paul Jordan and The Rev. Margaret Eiben-Hoversten will officiate with burial and military rites in the Viroqua Cemetery. Friends may call on Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Vosseteig-Larson Funeral Home, 123 W. Decker (hwy 56), in Viroqua. A prayer service will be held at 6:00 p.m. Friends may also call on Wednesday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00. In lieu of flowers or plants memorial contributions may be made to the family, or a charity of donors choice. The Vosseteig-Larson Funeral Home of Viroqua is serving the family.
