Robert L. Tway, age 71 of Viroqua, died Saturday, December 26, 2009. Robert L. Tway, Sr., age 71 of Viroqua, died Saturday, December 26, 2009. He was born on March 13, 1938 to Glarice "Chris" and Gladys (Widner) Tway. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1956 to 1958 and had serviced President Eisenhowers airplane. He was a life member of the DAV following a service connected disability. He was married to Carol Hormon for over 30 years prior to their divorce. In 1977 he married Linda (Laine) Tunison. Robert worked for Mathy Construction for 14 years and also raised tobacco as well as running the Avalanche Store for over 18 years. He was devoted to his parents and loved and took good care of his family. He enjoyed his yard and raising flowers. He also looked after 40 goldfish, keeping them in the basement during the winter and placing them in the pond in the summer. In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children: Cindy (Scott) Weber of Viroqua, Linda (Bryan) Burch of Sparta and Robert Tway, Jr. of Cashton; four step-children: Michelle (Mark) Davis, Tara (Brian) Anderson, Raette Pierce, and Janel Tunison; seven grandchildren: Brooke, Cole, Brock, April, Matt (Rachel), Amber and Jesse; five step-grandchildren: Kody, Nick, Mackenzie, Alexis, and Dalton; his special dog friends, "Carlito" and "Baby". He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 30, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. at the Vosseteig Funeral Home, 708 S. Hwy 14 in Westby. Pastor Gary Daines will officiate with burial in the Coon Prairie Cemetery. Friends may call on Wednesday at the funeral home after 12:00 noon.
