Robert W. Drees, age 74 of rural Viola, died Wednesday, April 18, 2007 Robert William Drees passed peacefully April 18, 2007 in his Viola, Wisconsin home at the age of 74. He was born on a farm near Earlville Iowa, July 1 1932 and lived most of his adult life near Milwaukee Wisconsin. He worked as a steam fitter and retired to Viola Wisconsin in 1991. He was an avid tinkerer and an enthusiastic motorcyclist riding until last year. He was also a mechanical historian and enjoyed sharing his knowledge with his friends at the Band Box and his family. He loved cars and read voraciously. His marriages to Louann Fessler and Jean McDonald ended in divorce. He will be well remembered and missed by his friends and family. A family memorial service will be held on July 1, 2007. Survivors include 8 children, Barbara Brown of Rockville Md, Jean Hunley of Pewaukee, Wisconsin, Janice Drees of Elkhart Lake Wisconsin, Joseph Drees and Joan Lawrence of Sheboygan, Wisconsin, Julie Isenberg of Russell, Minnesota, Beverly Drees of Bowie, Maryland, James Drees of Plymouth, Wisconsin, a stepson, Patrick Lindow of Cadillac, Michigan, 19 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Other survivors include 1 sister Betty Stelken of Dyersville Iowa and 3 brothers: Henry Drees of Littleton, Colorado, Richard Drees of Lenox, Massachusetts, Herbert Drees of Olney, Maryland. He was preceded in death by two brothers. The Vosseteig Funeral Home's Henthorn Memorial Center in Viola is serving the family.
