Roger D. Yttri, age 75 of Viroqua, died Friday, June 5, 2015. Roger D. Yttri, age 75 of Viroqua, passed away Friday, June 5, 2015, at the Bland Bekkedal Hospice Center surrounded by his family. He was born on October 9, 1939 in Viroqua to Calmer and Clara (Pederson) Yttri. He attended Viroqua High School and worked for American Motors in Kenosha, WI making Rambler cars. He also worked for Chevy in Janesville for 3 years, the Fishery on French Island for 3 years, Century Foods in Sparta for 5 years and NCR in Viroqua for 23 years. From 1963 to 1965 he served in the Army and was a military policeman. On May 8, 1965 he was united in marriage to Victoria Tollackson and together they just celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. Roger enjoyed fishing and camping and spending time with his family. In addition to his wife, Victoria, he is survived by three children: Laura (Todd) Olson, Gary Yttri and Kathy (Jeff) Cuchna; four grandchildren: Christopher (Rachel) Olson, Brandon (Ashley) Olson, and Dustin and Taylor Helgerson; one great-grandson, Nathan Olson. He was preceded in death by his parents; two grandchildren: Dannielle and Bryan Olson; and his best friend: his dog, Kandie. Blessed be our memory of Roger D. Yttri. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 10, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at the Vosseteig-Larson Funeral Home, 123 W. Decker (Hwy 56) in Viroqua with Pastor Pete Beckstrand officiating. Burial with military honors will be in the Bethel Lutheran Church Cemetery. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Wednesday. In lieu of flowers or plants, memorials are preferred. The Vosseteig-Larson Funeral Home of Viroqua is serving the family.
