Roger Lunde

Roger Lunde, 83, of Westby, died Wednesday, March 4, 2015. Roger was born to Eddie and Anna (Hanson) Lunde on November 28, 1931. He was baptized and confirmed at Westby Coon Prairie Lutheran Church. Roger married Dorothy Engh on October 14, 1950. Roger served four years in the Navy including a complete cruise around the world. He was a 54-year member of the American Legion holding several offices including WG Commander. He was also a member of the VFW, life member of the Snowflake Ski Club, Syttende Mai Board including two years as President, Rod and Gun Club and served over 25 years on the Westby Fire Department retiring as 1st Assistant Chief. Roger worked at Westby Lumber Company for 10 years, was the manager at Great Rivers F/S for 10 years and Rural Insurance sales for 16 years. Roger enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, traveling, and spending as much time as possible with his family. Roger is survived by his ever loving and caring wife Dorothy of 64 years; three sons: Gregory, Randy (Bonnie), Cory (Christine); grandchildren: Yanicka, Adam (Amanda), Kjersta, Sara (Kyle) Fanelli and Christopher; great-grandchildren: Destiny and Jadah Lunde, Dessa and Chase Fanelli; one sister, Carole Larson; one brother, Irvin (Mary); one brother-in-law, Donald (Wanda) Engh. Roger is also survived by many nieces and nephews, great- nieces and great-nephews, and friends. Roger was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters: Arlene and Vivian Leum; two brothers: Chester and Eddie Jr.; sister-in-law, Cleo (Chester) Lunde; two brothers-in-law: Milton Leum and Lester Larson. Funeral Service will be held at 11a.m. on Monday, March 9, 2015 at the Westby Coon Prairie Lutheran Church. Pastor Julie Wollman will officiate.
