Roger Peterson

Roger S. Peterson, 83 of Viroqua, died Thursday, September 4, 2014 He was born January 8, 1931 to Lawrence and Lydia (nee Johnson) Peterson. On April 16, 1955 he was united in marriage to Marline Bruland at Utica Church. Roger was a farmer and also drove bus for the Viroqua area schools for 47 years. He was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church. Roger is survived by his wife, Marline Peterson; son, Randy (Kim) Peterson; grandchildren, Reannon (Jay) Branchesi and Ryan (Hannah) Peterson; great-granddaughters, Abigail and Isbel Branchesi; sisters, Wanda Warner and Joan (Milford) Herreid; brother, Larry Peterson; brother-in-law, Arnold Bruland; and sisters-in-law, Ruth Stephens and Audrey Nelson; he is further survived by other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters-in-law; and three brothers-in-law. Memorial service will be at 1:00 pm on Monday, September 8, 2014 at the Bethel Lutheran Church in Rural Viroqua. Pastor Pete Beckstrand will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:30 am until the time of the service on Monday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to the Bethel Church, Bethel Cemetery or to the donors choice.
