Rolf E. Fostervold, age 87 of Viroqua, died Sunday, December 7, 2008. Rolf E. Fostervold, age 87 of Viroqua, died Sunday, December 7, 2008 at the Vernon Memorial Hospital in Viroqua. Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 19, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. at the Living Faith Church in Viroqua. A visitation/viewing will be Thursday from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Vosseteig-Larson Funeral Home, 123 W. Decker (Hwy 56) in Viroqua and at the church one hour prior to the service on Friday. Burial will take place on Saturday, December 20, 2008 at the Calvary Church Cemetery in Willmar, Minnesota. The Vosseteig-Larson Funeral Home of Viroqua is serving the family. Dear Friends and Loved Ones: It is with deepest sadness and sorrow that I inform you of the passing on of my father Rolf Fostervold who went home to be with the Lord on Sunday December 7th, 2008 at 1:40 local time. My dad lived his life with the purpose to see Native peoples empowered in the South American Amazon basin, principally in Paraguay but also in Bolivia, beginning in 1956. After many adventures, hard work and pilgrim journeys, and with the result of impacting & sharing a life transforming message and saving many peoples lives and cultures at a great cost to him and his health, we rejoice in the fact that he is finally at home where all trials and tears are wiped away forever, and where each chapter gets better and better than the one preceding it. The Vosseteig Funeral Home from Viroqua, WI.(www.vosseteigfuneralhomes.com) Phone # 608-637-2100, are in charge with all the funeral arrangements and they also have arranged at no extra cost for my dad to be taken to be buried in the Fostervold family plot at Wilmer, Minnesota. We are so grateful for their compassion and efficiency with dealing with so many different details and especially the loving concern and care that they have shown to my mom. Thank you so much! My mom is doing okay through this trying time well, but also health wise fragile, but also extremely resilience and very coherent at ironing out the many different details of the funeral and memorial service. My sister Lual and I share the same opinion that we would like to delay the funeral until we can make the necessary travel arrangements to be together to say one final goodbye to my beloved father. At this moment we (our family) are working on wrapping up different details and responsibilities in order to travel up to the states in time for the funeral. We especially want to our children to be present at the funeral so that there can be closure with them and their dear grandpa. By faith we have reserved passage for our family for the 17th of December, and by God's grace we trust that my sister can also make it from Montana, to be together at my mom's side during this time of grief. La salud de mi padres ya hace tiempo no estaba muy bien y mi papa fue llevado de urgencia al hospital el domingo, pero ya su corazn ya no pudo aguant ms y paso a la eternidad. Mi padre tena 87 aos y llego a la Amazonia Bolivia en 1956. Estamos en paz con su partida, porque sabemos que l est junto ahora con el Seor y ha descansado de su trabajo aqu en la tierra. Mi padre a dejado un legado de valenta y amor que continuara en los corazones con la Nacin Ach y tambin con otros pueblos Originarios del Paraguay y Bolivia. Tenemos el deseo de regresar si posible con la familia completa para el entierro, pero hasta el momento no poseemos un panorama muy claro o como superar las dificultades financieras y de los compromisos para llegar a Estados Unidos. Por fe hemos reservado pasajes para el 17 de diciembre para toda la familia con la esperanza de poder lograr acompaar mi mama en estos das de dolor!
