Ronald Bakken

Ronald Bakken, age 69 of Westby, died Wednesday, January 18, 2006 at his home. He was born July 15, 1936 in Westby to Henry and Margaret (Lovstad) Bakken. He married Christine Stefferud on August 21, 1960. He is survived by his wife Christine of Westby, and children: Lynn (Randy) Nelson of St. Charles, MN; Eric (Christine) Bakken of Onalaska; and Karl (Renee) Bakken of Chatfield, MN. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Nik Nelson, Emily Nelson, Rachel Bakken, and Jacob Bakken; his mother, Margaret Bakken of Westby; and in-laws, Beverly and Jerome Bjornstad of Cashton; and David and Kathy Stefferud also of Cashton. He was preceded in death by his father, Henry Bakken. Ron was a past member of Plumbers Local 31 of La Crosse, WI and a member of the 82nd Airbourn Division Association. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 21at 11:00 a.m. at the Westby Coon Prairie Lutheran Church in Westby with Pastor Dennis Hallemeier officiating. Burial with Military Rites provided by Syverson-Funk American Legion Post # 155 will be at the Coon Prairie Cemetery. Friends may call Friday, from 4 6:00 p.m. at the Vosseteig Funeral Home, 708 S Main (Hwy 14) Westby and Saturday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. The Vosseteig Funeral Home of Westby is serving the family.
