Ronald Earl Driscoll Sr., 78, of La Farge, passed away peacefully at his home on May 13, 2026. He was born on January 12, 1948, in La Farge, Wisconsin, to the late Pat and Phyllis (Silbaugh) Driscoll. Ron attended school in La Farge, Madison and Platteville before serving his country in the Vietnam War for 3 years as a Wheeled Vehicle Repairman. On January 4, 1970, he tied the knot with his perfect match, Rosie Lombard.
Following his military service, he returned home and dedicated many years working for the Village of La Farge. He was also well known throughout the area as the proud owner and operator of Ron’s Towing Service, which he faithfully ran for 25 years. Ron was a hardworking man who took great pride in helping others whenever they required his services; no matter the weather conditions or the time of night. He was consistently accompanied by his trusted companions (his dogs), initially Rambo, followed by Freeman and most recently Jake.
Beyond his work, Ron enjoyed the simple things in life. He loved fishing, playing Solitaire, shaking dice with friends, and keeping up with local happenings by listening to the scanner. A familiar face around town, Ron enjoyed his daily visits to the Town Tap, where he shared stories, laughter, and friendship with many. He also gave generously of his time to his community, serving on the board for Star Cemetery for 32 years. Ron was a dedicated advocate who fought alongside his father for the La Farge Dam.
Ron is survived by his children: Ron Jr. (Shelly Suiter), Tabitha (Todd) Volden, and Pamela Driscoll; his grandchildren: Elizabeth (Travis), Tyler, Austin, Seth (Kendra), Chandlor, and Tessa; great-grandchildren: Isabella, Renley, and Emma; his siblings Connie (Greg) Smith, Michael (Christy) Driscoll, Scott (Pam) Driscoll, Glenn (Carol) Driscoll, Colleen Smith and Leon Mindham; brothers and sisters-in-law: Ramona Wettstein, Carolyn Sullivan, Dorothy Rickey, Mary Christopherson, Mark (Sandy) Lombard and Al Driscoll; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Rosie; his parents; his infant daughter, Rose Marie; siblings: Linda Mindham and Kathy Duda; brothers and sisters-in-law: Raymond (Cynthia) Lombard, Lloyd Lombard, Patricia Hughes, Donna Driscoll, Jane Holtz, Carolyn Strait, Robert Wettstein and Robert Rickey.
A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until Noon on Friday, May 22, 2026, at the La Farge Free Methodist Church. A graveside service with full military honors will follow at Star Cemetery, rural La Farge.
