Ronald G. Aspenson, 68 of Westby 4/ 19 /05 Ronald G. Aspenson, 68 of Westby, a loving husband, father and grandfather, died peacefully in his home after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Fairview, Wis. to Selbert and Olive (Sheffield) Aspenson. He graduated from Seneca High School in 1954. In May of 1958, he was united in marriage to Rosanne Crowley. Ron worked a variety of jobs before going in the meat business in 1958. He started at the Richland Meat Locker and moved to the Kroger Grocery Store in Richland Center. He was promoted to meat department manager at the Kroger Store in Mauston where he worked in 1971. In August of that year he and Rosanne bought the Westby Locker with a goal of having an outstanding retail meat dept. Over the past 34 years he and Rosanne, along with their son Rod, did just that: Westby Locker and Meats has been recognized with state and national awards for many of the different sausages and meats. This year they won the top honors at the Wisconsin State Convention in early April with the Award of Excellence. Ronald was a member of St. Marys Catholic Church in Viroqua. He was an avid sports fan and loved to watch his children and grandchildren participate in sports. In addition to his wife, Rosanne, he is survived by six children: Roland (Paulene), Rod (Monica), Roger (Brenda), Randy (Rhonda), Reyne (Mark) Larson, and Rhonda (Rick) Rayburn; 14 grandchildren: Christopher, Andrea, Nathan, Brittany, Thea, Samantha, Tyler, Trever, Amy, Sabrina, Jordan, Miranda, Kaitlyn and Brock; four siblings: Lois (Sherman) Mickelson, Orland (Rosemary), Joyce (Art) Helgerson, and Eldon (Rae Dawn); many nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; one granddaughter, Megan Lee Aspenson; his father and mother-in-law, William and Cecilia Crowley; and brothers-in-law, Tom Gray and Alvin Henderson. Ronald G.
