Ronald RonnieP. Campton, age 50 died Tuesday July 23, 2019. Ronald P. Campton age 50 of Viroqua died July 23, 2019 unexpectedly at his home. He was born October 17, 1968 in Viroqua WI. The son of the late Hallie L. Campton and Rose Mary Campton (Clark). Ronnie married Maren Dunnum on September 30, 1995, they later separated but remained friends. Ronnie and Maren were loving foster parents for 15 years. Ronnie enjoyed growing tobacco with his in-laws and a large garden every summer, he also enjoyed working around their hobby farm. Ronnie made his career as a bartender at various taverns in Viroqua and Westby, most notably at the Rod and Gun Club in Westby for more than 12 years. Ronnie was well known in the area as a friendly bartender to all that knew him. There are many stories of him snapping his fingers and singing along with whatever was on the jukebox. Ronnie enjoyed hunting, canoeing and going to the casino. Ronnie loved spending time with his family and many friends. Ronnie also enjoyed playing cards at Christmas with his brothers, nieces and nephews. Ronnie was a passionate Green Bay Packer and Brewers fan. Ronnie is survived by; his mother Rose Campton (Clark), his brothers Steven Campton of Westby, David (Mavis) Campton of Viroqua, Daniel Campton of Westby, Brandon (Elizabeth) LaMere of Viroqua, and Christopher Muller of Stoddard, and his sister Michelle (Ryan) Strait of Westby WI, and a special friend Pam Huber of Sparta, as well as many Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews and cousins. Ronnie was preceded in death by; his father Hallie L. Campton Jr., his brother Robert J. Campton, his maternal grandparents Bernard and Rita Clark, and paternal grandparents Hallie and Dolly Campton, a best friend - his dog Lucky, two of his aunts, an uncle, a niece and many cousins. A Funeral "Mass of Christian Burial" for Ronnie will be Tuesday July 30, 2019 at 11:00 AM at St. Marys Annunciation Catholic Church, (400 Congress Ave. and Broadway) in Viroqua. Father Charles Richman will celebrate the Mass, with burial following at the Viroqua Cemetery. Friends may call during Visitations, Monday July 29, 2019 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the Vosseteig- Larson Funeral Home in Viroqua or Tuesday from 10:00 to 11:00 AM before Mass at the church.
