Rosalie Schye, 92, of Westby, died Wednesday, September 27, 2017. Rosalie 'Roe' (Fremstad) Schye, 92, of Westby, died Wednesday, September 27, 2017 at Old Times Assisted Living in Westby. She was born on November 21, 1924 to Roy and Bertha (Fredrickson) Fremstad, in the town of Christiana in Vernon County. She was baptized and confirmed at Coon Prairie Lutheran Church. She attended Unseth country school and was a 1942 graduate of Westby High School. Rosalie married Ivan Schye on September 16, 1944 and raised four children. She lived her entire life in the Westby area. She was a lifelong member of Westby Coon Prairie Lutheran Church, where she was a member of the Eve circle and was an active member of the quilting group for many years. She was also an active member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the Norseland Nursing Home Auxiliary, as well as a member of the VFW Auxiliary. Rosalie is survived by four children, Ann (Doug) Drew of Butte, MT, Jon (Pat) Schye of Monroe, WI, Susan (Stanley) Dodge of Rochester, MN, and Paul (d.Meredith) Schye of Wichita, KS; six grandchildren: Julie (Jeff) Funke, Jessica (Ben) Carr, Amy Schye, Jared Schye, Michael (Regina) Dodge, and Stephanie Dodge; and six great-grandchildren: Conner, Jordan, and Sophia Funke, Drew Carr, and Annaline and Braeden Dodge. She is also survived by one brother, Roland Fremstad; sisters-in-law: Evelyn (d.Helmer) Schye and Lois (d.Martin) Schye; as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Ivan; daughter-in-law, Meredith Huggins Schye; sister and brother in law: Arlean and Orrin Pederson; sister-in-law, Joanne Fremstad, and an infant sister. Funeral Services will be held at 11am on October 13, 2017 at the Westby Coon Prairie Lutheran Church. Pastor Daniel Wollman will officiate with burial to follow in the Coon Prairie Cemetery.
