Rose M. Castro

Rose M. Castro, age 66 of Desoto, died on Sunday, October 22, 2006 at the Vernon Manor Nursing Home in Viroqua where she had been a resident since May of 2006. Rose was born in Blue River, Wisconsin on January 17, 1940 and graduated from Blue River High School in 1959. She spent her adult life at home raising her children. She loved kids. Not just her kids, but others as well. She enjoyed gardening both vegetables and flowers, and she was a wonderful cook. She cared deeply about animals especially dogs and other pet animals, and she knew a great deal about cows. Rose is survived by her two sons: Paul (Brenda) Castro of Waukesha, Wisconsin and Andrew Castro of San Antonio, Texas. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Robert; a daughter, Maria; and a stillborn daughter, Rebecca. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 25, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. at the Vosseteig-Larson Funeral Home, 320 Main St (Hwy 82) in DeSoto. Pastor Ethan Larson will officiate.
