Ruby M. Whiteman 85 of Coon Valley, died on Sunday March 23, 2008 Funeral service for Ruby M. Whiteman (nee Juhl) 85 of Coon Valley, WI., is 10 AM. Friday at Kristan Funeral Home P.C., 219 West Maple Ave. (2 blocks west of Rt. 45 on Rt. 176) Mundelein. Interment will follow in Ascension Cemetery, Libertyville. Visitation is Thursday from 4-8 PM. at the funeral home. She was born July 17, 1922 in Exira, Iowa and died peacefully, surrounded by her family on Sunday March 23, 2008 at Vernon Memorial Hospital, Viroqua, WI. Ruby spent her early years growing up in western Iowa. As a young women, she moved to Chicago and met her husband Felix who was in the US Navy during WW II. They married in 1946 and raised their children in Mundelein. They were married 46 years until his death in 1993. Ruby worked at Americana in Mundelein and Cheshire, a Xerox Company, also in Mundelein. She and her husband loved their family immensely. Ruby moved to Coon Valley, WI. In October of 2007 to be closer to her daughter as her health declined. She was admired and respected by all who knew her. Always quick to smile, her kind and generous spirit will be greatly missed. A wonderful wife, mother and grandmother who taught us so much and touched us all. Another angel called home. She is survived by her children Ken (Rene) Whiteman, Judy Hesemann, her grandchildren Stacy (Eric) Anderson, Daniel Whiteman, Kathy (Dave) Braun, Jennifer Hesemann, great grandchildren Tyler, Hannah, Reid, Aliyah, her brothers Milford Juhl, Donald Juhl, Leland (Alice) Juhl, Harold Juhl, her sisters Olive Stoehr, Mildred Holder, Ruth Anne (Luther) Dameron, Eva Mae Juhl and many nieces and nephews including Bob Juhl, Ed Holder, Connie Allen and Jan Galarza. Special thanks to Terry Zimmerman and Louise Rehm for their friendship and assistance. She was preceded in death by her parents Leroy and Edith (nee Swanson) Juhl, stepmother Ethel Funk, her husband Felix Whiteman, her sister Dorothy Sossong.
