Ruby Sisbach

Ruby Sisbach, age 91 of Viroqua, died Thursday, March 11, 2010. Ruby M. (Everson) Sisbach, 91 of Viroqua, died on Thursday, March 11, 2010 at Vernon Memorial Hospital in Viroqua. She was born on January 19, 1919 to Jonah and Julia (Olson) Everson. She was baptized and confirmed at Bad Axe Lutheran Church, rural Viroqua. She married Harold Sisbach on September 10, 1938 and they had two children: Eileen (Ray) Getter of Viroqua and James (fiance Patti Gersich) Sisbach. Ruby was a friend to everyone and always had a joke or story. Ruby enjoyed music, especially playing the mouth organ, and she collected bells. She has written many poems for family and friends. Ruby would ask Pastor Hjelle to come to the apartment building to have communion service for those who could not get to church. Ruby is survived by her daughter, Eileen (Ray) Getter of Viroqua; seven grandchildren: Susan (John) Johnson of Viola, Sonia Getter of Viroqua, Steven (Katie Schroeder) Getter of Readstown, Stacey Getter of Viroqua, Stuart (Kay) Getter of Viroqua, Stanley (Hiedi Salach) Getter of Viroqua and Jeff Sisbach (Maggie Weber) of Chugiak, Alaska; one great-grandson, Cody Getter-Skrede of Viroqua; Jims fiance, Patti Gersich of Wasilla, Alaska; brother, Glen Everson of Viroqua; sister, Carol Wolfgram of Kendall; many nieces and nephews; and former daughter in law Ardith Sisbach. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harold in 1973; son, James Sisbach on December 14, 2008; two brothers: James and Fredrick; four sisters: Stella Larson, Verna Jacobson, Edna Matson and Hazel Mezera. Blessed be our memory of Ruby. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 16, 2010 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Viroqua. The Reverend Margaret Eiben Hoversten and The Reverend Lindsay Paul Jordan will officiate with burial in Viroqua Cemetery. Friends may call on Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Vosseteig-Larson Funeral Home, 123 W. Decker (hwy 56), in Viroqua. Friends may also call at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. The Vosseteig-Larson Funeral Home of Viroqua is serving the family.
