Ruth E. Zietlow, age 91 of Viroqua, died Tuesday, November 13, 2007. Ruth E. Zietlow, age 91 of Viroqua, died Tuesday, November 13, 2007, at the Bethel Home in Viroqua. Ruth was born December 13, 1915 to Peter and Mabel (Helgerson) Johnson. She was married to Alfred Zietlow, Sr. on January 16, 1966. She was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church; was a long time member of the church choir; and an active member of several church circles and study groups.Ruth graduated from Vernon County Normal in Business/Bookkeeping. She became the bookkeeper for the Wisconsin Tobacco Pool, where she was employed for almost 40 years before retirement in the early 1970s. Ruth was an active member of the USO movement, Eastern Star and Sons and Daughters of Norway.Ruth was preceded in death by her parents and husband.She is survived by a step son Alfred Zietlow, Jr., and his wife Valary of Delafield; two step grandchildren, Amy (Alan) Buss of Verona, Andrew (Kristin) Zietlow of Hartland; five step great-grandchildren, Kiley, Nathaniel, and Bennett of Verona; Olivia and Emmaleigh of Hartland. She is also survived by several cousins and their families from the Peter and Mabel (Helgerson) Johnson family.Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, November 16, 2007, at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Viroqua. Pastor Lindsay Paul Jordan will officiate with burial in the Woodlawn Cemetery, 3636 Mormon Coulee Rd., La Crosse at 2 p.m. Friends may call at the church on Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of service. The Vosseteig-Larson Funeral Home of Viroqua is serving the family.
