Ruth O. Hoff

Ruth O. Hoff, 82 of Westby died Thursday, March 24, 2011. Ruth Olga (Dahlen) Hoff, age 82 of Westby, died Thursday, March 24, 2011 at Norseland Nursing Home in Westby. She was born on June 8, 1928 on Rognstad Ridge, rural Cashton, to Joseph and Ida (Hentschel) Dahlen. She was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel (Moen) Lutheran Church, rural Cashton. On May 21, 1952 she was united in marriage to Luell William Hoff. They farmed most of their married life until moving into Westby in 1985. She was a member of Westby Coon Prairie Lutheran Church, the WELCA, the Orpha-Ruth Circle, Quilters, and the Serving Committee. Ruth was also a member of Sewing Club. In October of 2004, Ruth moved to Norseland Nursing Home. She is survived by three sons: Roland (Becky) Hoff of Westby, Glen (Luann) Hoff of Coon Valley, and Kevin (Linda) Hoff of Mt. Horeb; seven grandchildren: Matthew (Dawn Boehde) Hoff, Kelli Hoff, Andrew Hoff, Benjamin Hoff, Kyle Hoff, Joshua Hoff and Lauren Hoff; four sisters-in-law: Joan Dahlen and Evelyn Dahlen; Doris Williams and Betty Haefer and three brothers in law, Howard Hoff and Virgil (Myra) Hoff and Leo Davidson, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Luell Hoff on June 13, 2003; one sister, Eva Struxness; four brothers: Norman, James, Art and her twin brother, Ralph; four sisters-in-law, Myrtle Dahlen and Edna Dahlen; Mary Hoff and Gert Davidson, and three brothers-in-law, Stanley Struxness; Bill Haefer, Wesley Williams and Walter Hoff and nephews, Lonnie Dahlen and Billy Hoff. Blessed be our memory of Ruth Hoff. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 28, 2011 at Westby Coon Prairie Lutheran Church. Pastor Dennis Hallemeier will officiate with burial in the Coon Prairie Cemetery. Friends may call on Sunday from 1-3 p.m. at the Vosseteig Funeral Home, 708 S. Main Street, (Hwy. 14 S) in Westby and at the church on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers or plants, memorial may be directed to Westby Coon Prairie Lutheran Church, The Bethel Butikk, Norseland Nursing Home or the charity of the donors choice. The Vosseteig Funeral Home of Westby is serving the family.
