Sandra Kay Mccann

Sandra Kay McCann, age 67, passed away at her home in Soldiers Grove on April 6, 2023, after a long battle with cancer. She was born August 26, 1955, to J. Oliver and Ruth (Leirmo) Lightfoot. She attended North Crawford Schools. Sandra married Tim McCann on March 27, 2000, after spending 22 years together. Sand worked for 35 years at Advance Transformer. When the plant closed she attended Southwest Wisconsin Technical College in Fennimore to become a Certified Nursing Assistant. Upon graduation, she was immediately hired at Sannes Skogdalen Nursing Facility where she was loved by the patients who resided there.

Sandra enjoyed gardening, tending to the hummingbirds that visited her, and dancing. She really loved being a mom, grandma, and most recently, a great grandma.

Sandra is survived by her husband, Tim McCann; one daughter, Misty; one stepdaughter, Keri Williams; granddaughters, Brittani Williams and Laci Barrett; one great-grandson, Kailec Condon; and her best friend, Mary Riemer. She is further survived by one brother, Chris Lightfoot; three sisters: Kristie Peckham, Susan (David) Oberbeck, and Karen Grimsled; as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Oliver and Ruth Lightfoot; brothers-in-law: Roger Peckham, Joel Grimsled, Mike McCann, and Joe McCann; and sisters-in-law, Marybeth Sandvick and Dixie Lessard.

Blessed be her memory.

Per Sandra's wishes, a private gathering will be held for her family.

Sandra's family would like to thank Dr. Hartman, the staff members of Gundersen Oncology Dept., and Gundersen Hospice for the compassionate care they provided.
