Sandra "Sandy" "The cookie lady" Page, age 64 of Onalaska, died Tuesday, September 12, 2006 at Gundersen-Lutheran Medical Center in LaCrosse after a very short battle with cancer. She was born July 3, 1942 to Leo and Opal (Eitsert) Pinkham in Gays Mills, Wi. She was the oldest child of seven. Sandy graduated from Soldiers Grove High School in 1960 and from U.W. LaCrosse in 1964. On December 19, 1964 she was united in marriage to Russell M. Page and together they have three daughters. She taught school for three years until she decided to stay home to raise her family. During this time she also babysat neighborhood children and family members. Years later when she returned to the workforce, she worked at Wendys Old Fashioned Hamburgers in Onalaska for 8 years and at Wal-Mart for 14 years. She was a longtime member and taught Sunday School at the Onalaska United Methodist Church. For over 23 years she was a Girl Scout leader with Riverland Girl scouts. She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Russell; her three daughters: Roberta, Doreen, and Kimberly, all of Onalaska; her honorary sons: Nick Wenzel of Onalaska and Thom Ryan of Madison; her parents, Leo and Opal Pinkham of Cazenovia, WI; her sisters: Alyce (special friend, Junior) Salmon of Ferryville, Linda (Marvin) Wiedenfeld of Blue River, Brenda (Craig) Beighley of Arena; her brothers: Dave (Sara) Pinkham of Cazenovia, Don of Richland Center; sister-in-law, Vicki (special friend Dan) Pinkham of Cazenovia; also her husbands brothers and sisters and their spouses; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and many other family and friends. She was preceded in death by her brother Roger Pinkham; brother-in-law, Edward Salmon; and sister-in-law, Doris Pinkham; father and mother-in-law, Robert and Florence Page; and by her husbands sister and brothers and sisters-in-laws; and other family members. "We are sorry to report, no more cookies from the "cookie lady." Services will be held on Saturday, September 16, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at Onalaska United Methodist Church, 212 4th Ave. North in Onalaska with Pastors Wes Schirmer and Scott McMurray officiating. Friends may call at the church on Saturday after 9:00 a.m. The Vosseteig Funeral Home of Westby is serving the family.
