Sarah L. Vikemyr, age 61 of Viroqua, died Wednesday, April 27, 2011. Sarah L. Vikemyr, age 61 of Viroqua, died Wednesday, April 27, 2011. She was born on October 8, 1949 in Viroqua to LaVern and Maurine (Hanson) Zitzner. She graduated from Viroqua High School and was united in marriage to James Vikemyr on May 10, 1969 at Liberty Pole United Methodist Church. Sarah was very proud to be a Zitzner, and very happy to be a Vikemyr. She worked at the Viroqua Country Club and for many years at Nates Supper Club in Viroqua. Sarah and James raised tobacco and for the last 10 year Sarah had worked at Village Market. In addition to her husband, James, she is survived by two children; Chad (Melissa) Vikemyr and Wade Vikemyr both of Viroqua; four grandchildren: Alex and Kelsey, and Brianna and Hunter; one sister, Judy (Alan) Christianson; two brothers: Fred (Vicky) Zitzner and Tim (JoEllen) Zitzner; four sisters-in-law: Carol Zitzner, Pam Vikemyr, Vickie Vikemyr and Jenny (Gary) Nundahl; mother-in-law, Elizabeth Vikemyr; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Jim Zitzner; one son, Seth Emanuel Vikemyr; two brothers-in-law: Jerry and Michael Vikemyr; father-in-law, Odean Emanuel Vikemyr. Blessed be our memory of Sarah L. Vikemyr. Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 2, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Liberty Pole United Methodist Church. Pastor Ethan Larson will officiate with burial in the Liberty Pole Cemetery. Friends may call on Sunday, May 1st from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Vosseteig-Larson Funeral Home, 123 W. Decker (Hwy 56) in Viroqua. Friends may also call at the church on Monday after 10 a.m. The Vosseteig-Larson Funeral Home of Viroqua is serving the family.
