Scott Holtet, age 76, of rural Westby, passed away Sunday, September 5, 2021. He was born August 19, 1945, in Scotland to the late Palmer and Frances (Connelly) Holtet. Scott proudly served his country in the U.S. Army for 14 years, where he served as a medic during the Vietnam War. He served three tours in Vietnam and received three Purple Hearts for his sacrifices in addition to numerous other medals, including the Soldiers Medal. He was also a lifetime member of the Cashton VFW. Following his military service, he worked as a CNA at Norseland Nursing Home in Westby. He tutored and mentored many members of the nursing home staff, using his experience in the military to teach others new skills. He often came across as crotchety and strong-willed but had a heart of gold. Survivors include his wife, Robin Holtet; his daughter, Tessaleigh Holtet; his son, Todd Holtet; his granddaughter, Ashley Harbin; his first nephew who was more like a son, Andrew Godfrey; other relatives and friends. Scott was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Molly and his daughter, Heather Dalzell. A celebration of Scott’s life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 3, 2021, at Bloomingdale Cemetery. A potluck will follow. Vosseteig Funeral Home in Westby is serving Scott's family. 708 S.
