Sharon Pederson, 60, of Melvina, formerly of Westby died May 28, 2010. Sharon Pederson, age 60, of Melvina, formerly of Westby, died May 28, 2010 at home surrounded by her family after a long battle with pancreatic cancer. She was born on May 18, 1950 in Westby to Lloyd and Inez (Rude) Leum. She graduated from Westby High School in 1968. On December 23, 1972, she married Tom Pederson at Our Savior?s Church in Westby. They were blessed with four children: Jared, Amber, Jay, and Heather. Sharon was employed by Trane Company, Howard Johnson?s, First Federal and for the last 18 years at Couleecap in Westby. Sharon retired in November 2009. She enjoyed spending time with her husband, kids, and grandkids on their farm near Melvina. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend who will be sadly missed.She is survived by her husband, Tom; children: Jared (Jackie), Amber (Greg) Bethke, Jay (Jenny); and Heather (Fiance? Jason Leis); grandchildren: Hudson Bethke, Hannah Pederson, Braden Pederson, Payten Pederson, and a granddaughter Norah Bethke to be born in June; her brothers and sisters: Gary (Marilyn) Leum, Peter Leum, Marla (Mike) Fencl, and Tom (Donna) Leum; brothers and sisters in law: Peter Bekkum, Fred (Michele) Pederson, Marilyn (Kelly) Hauge, and Brian (Rachel) Pederson; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.She was preceded in death by her parents Lloyd and Inez; sister Lou Ann Bekkum; brother John Leum; in-laws Orrin and Arlean Pederson; and nephew Kyle Hauge. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 2, 2010 at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Westby. Pastor Gary Daines will officiate with burial in Our Saviors Cemetery, rural Westby. Friends may call on Tuesday from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Vosseteig Funeral Home, 708 S. Main (Hwy 14), in Westby. Friends may also call at the church on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. The Vosseteig Funeral Home of Westby is serving the family.
