Sharon Kaye Olson

Sharon Kaye (Brothen) Olson, age 74, of Coon Valley died Saturday, August 17, 2013 at Mayo Clinic Health System in LaCrosse. She was born September 26, 1938 in Vernon County to Thurman and Leilah (Selin) Brothen. On October 27, 1956 she married Donald E. Olson and later divorced. For the last 32 years Sharon has been the partner of Stephen Ostrem. Sharon is survived by Stephen Ostrem; two daughters, Heidi (Dave) Otto of Westby, Penny (Kenny) Tainter of Soldiers Grove and one son Scott (Sandra) Olson of Wilton; two stepsons, Jason and Dan Ostrem of Coon Valley; 14 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren; two sisters Lana (Dwight )Myers of Richland Center and Susan (Donald) Olson of Lone Rock; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. She was preceeded in death by her parents, Thurman and Leilah Brothen, and one sister, Rebecca Faye. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, August 22, 2013 at 11A.M. at the Bethel Lutheran Church, County Road Intersections of "Y" and "B" in Viroqua, WI. Friends may call from 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday at the Vosseteig Funeral Home, 708 S. Main, in Westby. Friends may also call at the church on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at 11.
