She was born on a farm near Bell Center, Crawford County on Feb. 19, 1936, the daughter of Lynn Richard and May Belle (Whitaker) Bell. She graduated from Gays Mills High School. Shirley had been employed by Parker Pen, Johnson Quick Flash Oil Co., and Ralph's Designers. She was a member of Cargill United Methodist Church. She loved to golf, music; especially country music, camping, traveling, gardening and flowers. Shirley is survived by her daughter, Tracie (Danny) Broitzman of Janesville; 2 grandchildren, Jason and James Broitzman; siblings: William Bell, Richard (Betty) Bell, Gary (Phyllis) Bell, Avalon Paulson, Joyce Moore, Nancy Mikkelson, and Linda (Rodney) Burkum; and sisters-in-law, Charlotte Bell and Jan Ann Barns. She was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings: Stuart, Darrel, Robert, Lynn Jr., and Bonnie. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2014, at CARGILL UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, Janesville with Rev. Krysta Deede officiating. A visitation will be held on Wednesday from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the church. A Memorial Service will also be held on Friday, Feb. 28, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. at VOSSETEIG FUNERAL HOME, Gays Mills, with a visitation from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Interment will be in Gays Mills Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Cargill United Methodist Church. SCHNEIDER APFEL SCHNEIDER & SCHNEIDER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY is assisting the family.
