Shirley M. Anderson, age 79 of Viroqua, died Tuesday, July 6, 2010. Shirley M. (Walker) Anderson, age 79 of Viroqua, died Tuesday, July 6, 2010 at Vernon Memorial Hospital in Viroqua. She was born on June 25, 1931 to John and Sylvia (Lawrence) Nida. Shirley was a longtime employee of Vernon Manor Nursing Home in Viroqua where she was the Food Service Supervisor for many years as well as serving as the Union President. Shirley is survived by her two sons: Allen "Tim" (Linda) Walker and Mark (Debra) Walker, both of Viroqua; five grandchildren: Tammy (David) Hatfield of LaFarge, Tina Walker of Colorado, Brian (Rose) Walker of Viroqua, Rachel (Travis) Brothen of Onalaska, and Alissa (Ben) Baker of Hawaii; five great-grandchildren: Connor, Landon, Lexy, Gavin, and Sawyer; one brother, Donald Nida of LaFarge; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands: Therol Walker and Sidney Anderson; two sons, Bruce and Brian; sister-in-law, Eva Nida and close friend, Myrtle Jacobson. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 10, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the Vosseteig-Larson Funeral Home, 123 W. Decker (Hwy 56) in Viroqua. Pastor Richard Robinson will officiate with burial at the Sylvan Cemetery. Friends may call on Saturday from 10 until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. The Vosseteig-Larson Funeral Home of Viroqua is serving the family.
