Shirley M. Veglahn

Shirley M. Veglahn, 71, of La Farge, died Friday, May 24, 2019. Shirley Mae Veglahn from LaFarge/Genoa left this Earth to be with her Heavenly Father on May 24th, 2019. Shirley was born in La Crosse, WI to Ervin and Beverly (Morris) Veglahn on October 8, 1947. She attended and graduated from DeSoto High School in 1967. Shirley worked for a short time at Northern Engraving in Lansing, Iowa; due to her disability Shirley went to work at VARC in Viroqua, WI. When she left VARC she was given a certificate honoring her as one of their longest employed individuals. When Shirley was no longer able to work at VARC she enjoyed going once a week to Bethel Home in Viroqua, WI for Care Cove. Shirley very much enjoyed doing crafts and loved decorating for the holidays - especially Halloween - she also enjoyed flowers and birds. Shirley is survived by her siblings, Jerry (Kathy) Veglahn, Stoddard; Rita (Paul) Magnuson, Stoddard; Betty Hunter, De Soto; Dwight (Patty) Veglahn, Genoa, and by her REM family in LaFarge, WI. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother-in-law Gene Hunter. Shirley will be remembered for her sweet smile, big heart and her want to always make others happy. Visitation will be Tuesday, May 28thfrom 5-8 p.m. at Vosseteig-Larson Funeral Home, 123 W Decker, Viroqua, WI. Funeral services will be Wednesday, May 29 at St. Lukes Evangelical Lutheran Church, 219 N Oak St, Stoddard, WI. Services will be held at 10:30am with a visitation from 10-10:30am at church.
