Shirley Werner

Shirley J. Werner, 89, died on November 6, 2015, in Reedsburg, WI. She was born on September 18, 1926, in Westby, Wisconsin, to James and Clara (Skundberg) Lee. On June 7, 1947, she was united in marriage to Bernard R. Werner. She was a life- long member of Westby-Coon-Prairie Lutheran Church. She has been making her home with Brandt & Ruth Werner at 2228 Sarah Rose Lane, Reedsburg, WI 53959. Shirley is survived by her three sons: Jeffrey of Stockton, Illinois, Brandt (Ruth) of Reedsburg, Wisconsin, and Daniel (Jennifer) of Geneva, Illinois; seven grandchildren: Jason (Amanda), Amy (Conant) Kuo, Ryan (Janis), Krista (Luke) Robertson, Lacey (Jameson) Voss, Joshua (Marileny), and Amanda; and thirteen great-grandchildren: Emma and Lily Kuo, Pepper, Gwendolyn, and Daphne Robertson, Brynlee and Jackson Werner, Violet, Henry, and Benjamin Voss, Alexa and Travis Werner, and Ethan Werner. She is further survived by a sister-in-law, Vivian Lee; nieces, nephews, and friends. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; beloved husband, Bernard; four siblings: Alice Strand, Earl Lee, Ada Larson, and Betty Knutson; a dear daughter-in-law, Becky Werner; and a dear niece, Barbara Hjelle. Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, November 10th, at Westby-Coon-Prairie Lutheran Church. Pastor Dan Wollman will officiate with burial to follow in the Coon Prairie Cemetery. Friends may call at the church from 1 p.m. until the time of service at 2. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials to the Westby-Coon-Prairie Church.
