Sonja A. Peterson

Sonja A. Peterson, age 69 of Viroqua, died suddenly early Tuesday morning, June 27, 2006 at her home. She was born on March 22, 1937. She was baptized and confirmed at Skogdalen Lutheran Church in Timber Coulee. She graduated from Westby High School and attended Vernon County Normal School. On June 15, 1957 she was united in marriage to Earl Peterson. She worked at the Dairy Queen in Viroqua and at Jack and Jill Clothing Store in Viroqua for many years. Sonja had also worked at Lambs Ear, the Super 8 Motel and Dr. Ken Purdues office, all in Viroqua. She had a strong faith and was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and WELCA in Viroqua. Sonja enjoyed all sorts of flowers, reading, baking, and watching birds. She was a member of the Viroqua Eagles Auxiliary. In addition to her husband, Earl, she is survived by two daughters: Sue (Ken) Isler and their children, Jake and Anna of West Salem and Ann Tucker and her son, Steve Tucker of St. Croix Falls; one aunt, Pauline Constalie of Westby; many cousins, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents: Victor on September 7, 1945 and Orella on March 13, 1998.
