Storey L. Meyer, age 36 of Viroqua, died Friday, December 15, 2006 at a LaCrosse hospital due to health complications. Our beautiful Storey Lisa Meyer was born on August 25th 1970 to Leon and Joan (Becwar) Meyer. She was the 7th of eleven children and was preceded in death by her older brother, Kevin. Part of Storeys childhood was spent in Waterville, Iowa. When she was ten, the family moved to Cashton, WI where she attended Sacred Heart School. Later she graduated from Westby High School. Storeys many interests led her to jobs that allowed her to meet a lot of people. She had a way with leaving her mark in the hearts of those she met. She loved to help others and to make things beautiful. She worked at the chiropractor office in Westby, the ASCS office, at her brother Scottes restaurant in Norwalk and at the flower department at Jubilee. Storey very much enjoyed rummage sales and was always so thoughtful about finding meaningful little things that she would give to her family and friends. In this hobby she became close friends with Bonnie Brown with whom she confided in and helped to put on many community rummage sales. In recent years, Storey moved to Hudson, WI to be close to her boyfriend, Greg. Together they spent several years enjoying their dogs, going out on their boat, and simply being together. Whenever someone called Storey, she would make them laugh by sharing jokes that Greg had told her. She was always proud of her many dogs she had through the years, most recently her beautiful Samoyed Husky, Mojo, who will forever be waiting faithfully for her to come home. Storey was a wonderful cook, gardener, and decorator. She had a talent for photography and was so bright. She could pick things up so quickly and was sharp with computers. Storey loved to take care of others. Though she had no children of her own, she was a doting mother to all, especially to her three youngest brothers and to her many nieces and nephews. She was always there for everyone, whether it was nursing them back to health, running errands for people, or just being a listener. She was a devoted aunt and loved each and every one of her nieces and nephews dearly. They gave her great pleasure. She was a proud godmother to her nephew Devon Meyer. Storey had the gift of finding her way into the hearts of everyone she met. She was a best friend to her many brothers and sisters, as well as to her mother and father. During her last few years, Storey endured an immense amount of suffering and pain. Were sure shes in heaven with God and the angels and finally at peace. We will miss her deeply and our lives will never be the same. Storey is survived by her parents, Leon and Joan; nine siblings: Steven Lee Meyer of Westby, Sandra Maria Barr of Temple, TX, Sheila Robin Purcell of Madison, Scotte David Meyer of Viroqua, Shelby Christopher Meyer of LaCrosse, Stacie Anna Thompson of Lauderhill, FL, Shayne Michael Meyer of Westby, Shamus Joe Meyer of Prairie Du Chien, and Shanon Gene Meyer of Madison; nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. The Mass of Christian Burial will be on Tuesday, December 19, 2006 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Marys Catholic Church in Viroqua. Father Robert J. Cook will celebrate the Mass with burial in the Viroqua Cemetery.
