Teri Kay Mathison

Teri Kay Mathison, 59, of Westby, born on March 17, 1967, passed away on July 18, 2026, leaving behind family, friends, and a community that will never be the same without her.

Teri was the beloved wife of Kevin for 11.5 wonderful years, daughter of Bernice and the late Don Stalsberg, loving sister to Cheryl, devoted mother to Logan and Jade, and adoring Grandma to Lenie.

To know Teri was to love her. She had an infectious smile, a contagious laugh, and a way of making everyone she met feel special. She lit up every room she walked into, and left people better than she found them. She was positive, compassionate, and genuinely cared about others. She could make anyone smile, make anyone laugh, and make anyone feel like family. The outpouring of love from her community is a testament to the incredible woman she was.

Teri dedicated 32 years of her life to serving the Westby community through her work at the Westby Co-Op Credit Union. She loved her work because she loved people. She wasn’t just an employee, she was a friend, a listening ear, and a bright light to so many. She considered her colleagues to be a second family. She also served as a board member on the Westby Chamber of Commerce for 3.5 years and was a dedicated member of Westby Coon Prairie Lutheran Church.

For the past 11.5 years, Teri shared a beautiful love story with her husband, Kevin. When they married, Kevin often said that he didn’t just get Teri—he got Logan and Jade, too, and that it was the very best thing that ever happened to him. Their marriage was built on friendship, laughter, unwavering love, and a deep appreciation for the life they created together. Kevin loved Teri with his entire being and cherished every moment they spent side by side. Whether they were taking road trips, enjoying time with family and friends, or simply doing life together, theirs was a love that was evident to everyone around them. The greatest gift of his life was loving Teri and being loved by her in return.

Above all else, Teri was a mom. Nothing in this world mattered more to her than her daughters, Logan and Jade. She loved fiercely, unconditionally, and wholeheartedly. She was their biggest cheerleader, their safe place, and their very best friend. There has never been a day in their lives that they couldn’t pick up the phone and call their mom.

Becoming Grandma to Lenie was one of the greatest joys of her life. After the loss of her father in December of 2025, welcoming her granddaughter brought immeasurable joy and light to her family. She adored every moment she had with her and embraced being Grandma with overwhelming love.

Teri also knew how to live life to the fullest. She loved spending time with friends and family, dancing, going out, laughing until her stomach hurt, and making memories with the people she loved. Teri especially enjoyed sharing mother-daughter trips with her big sister Cheryl and her niece. She was fun, adventurous, and never turned down an opportunity to celebrate life. In true Teri fashion, she was supposed to be attending her dream AC/DC concert this weekend, a perfect reminder that she embraced every moment she was given.

Fifty-nine years was simply not enough. Our world will never, ever be the same without her in it. While our hearts are shattered, we are forever grateful to have been loved by her. Her kindness, joy, and unwavering love will live on in all of us.

If you knew Teri, you loved her. And if she loved you, you knew it.

Survivors include her husband, Kevin; her children, Logan (Michael) and Jade (Nick); her granddaughter, Lenie; her mother, Bernice Stalsberg; her sister, Cheryl (David) Bean; her nephews Dexter (Misty) and Dillon (Makayla); her nieces, Andrea (Eric) and Caycee; many great-nieces and nephews; aunts and uncles; other relatives and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Donald Stalsberg; infant nephew, Baby Bean; her uncle Virgil Stalsberg and her aunt, Eileen Knitt.

A Funeral Service for Teri will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 23, 2026, at Westby Coon Prairie Lutheran Church. Pastor Alyssa Weaver will officiate. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 22, at Vosseteig Funeral Home in Westby. Additional visitation will be held Thursday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Teri will be laid to rest at Vang Lutheran Church Cemetery. A luncheon will follow at Westby Coon Prairie Lutheran Church. Online Condolences may be expressed at www.vossfh.com.

Teri’s family greatly appreciates the outpouring of support during this difficult time. In lieu of sending out thank you cards, they will donate to a local charity in Teri’s name at a later date.
