Terry B. Strangstalien age 71, of Westby, passed away on Veterans Day, November 11, 2021, at Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center due to Covid-19 complications. Born in Viroqua on August 16, 1950, to Harold and Joan (Hanson) Strangstalien, he was raised the oldest of two sons outside of Westby on the family farm. Terry graduated from Westby High School with the class of 1968. After High School, he attended the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree. Terry served in the United States Army, where he was stationed in Germany and served four years. After his time in the military, he attended the University of Toledo where he earned his Master of English Degree and later taught English. He returned to Westby, where he spent his remaining years doing various types of work. His later years were spent working in Lawn Care Service and driving cab for the local Transit Company. Terry was a very hard worker all of his life. He truly enjoyed working, visiting with people, and most of all spending time with his family and friends. Terry is survived by his brother Rick (Kathy) Strangstalien; his nieces, Kylie (Brandon) Garrison, Katie (Matt) Breidel, and Kirby (Mike) Remus; his great-nephews: Ryder, Hudson, and Calder Garrison; Theo and Jordy Breidel; Hayden and Bennett Remus, along with many other relatives and friends. Terry was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Joan Strangstalien; his grandparents, Joel and Christine Strangstalien, and Joseph and Mabel Hanson. A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, November 19, 2021, at Vang Lutheran Church in rural Westby. A visitation will be held at the church from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service.
