Terry Lee St. John

Terry Lee St. John, age 76, of Viroqua, passed away peacefully Saturday, August 3, 2024. He was born in Chippewa Falls, WI on June 1, 1948, to Maxwell and Edith (Weber) St. John. Terry was married to Gretchen Matson on June 10, 1972. They had two children together, Daren and Tara, and later divorced. On July 2, 1988, Terry married his soulmate, Carroll Witzel at Little Brown Church in Iowa. Terry and Carroll called Viroqua home, where they built their lives together. Through the years, Terry worked part time as a police officer in Viroqua and at Hoff’s Mobil. Most of his working career was working as a custodian at the Viroqua Area Schools for over 40 years. Terry and Carroll together owned the Blue Diamond Café in Viroqua from 2000 to 2005. He loved riding his Honda Gold Wing all over the area. He was known as “Mr. Terry” and impacted the lives of many. Terry and Carroll loved their trips to Las Vegas where they would visit family and travel to see a new adventure.

Terry is survived by his children, Cathy St. John (Ryan Nelson), Daren (Jennifer) St. John, Tara (Brian) McKittrick; stepdaughter, Terri (Todd) Deaver; his grandchildren, Trent Seidel, Maverick Nelson, Shelby Nelson, Brenner St. John, Boman St. John, Brianna McKittrick, Cameron McKittrick, Brandon (Emily) Cade, Andre St. John, Eva Early, Todd St. John, Amanda (Trevor) Parr, Fawn (Ron) Hopping, and Shane Johnson; one great-grandson, Isaac Cade; his sister, Judy (Richard) Volden; his daughter-in-law, Jill St. John; his brothers-in-law, Ron (Connie) Witzel, Bill (Nadine) Witzel, Roy David (Minmin) Witzel, Greg (Tammy) Witzel, and Jim Witzel; his sister-in-law, Nancy Fronczak; several nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.

Terry was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Carroll St. John; his son, Robert “Bob” St. John; and his brother-in-law, Clem Fronczak.

A Funeral Service for Terry will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 10, 2024, at Vosseteig-Larson Funeral Home in Viroqua. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
