LaFARGE Thelma Connelly, age 89, formerly LaFarge, died Saturday, March 31, 2018. Thelma M. Connelly, age 89 of formerly of LaFarge, died Saturday, March 31, 2018. She was born on July 5, 1928 to Theodore and Lottie (Chroninger) Rolfe. In 1948 she was united in marriage to Alvin Connelly. They lived in many places including Minnesota and Wisconsin. After moving back to LaFarge in the early 1970s, Thelma worked at Jeffers Truck Sales and also Arlen Johnsons chicken farm. She enjoyed fishing, mushroom hunting and watching the Milwaukee Brewers. Thelma really enjoyed the LARGE annual Connelly family picnic. She is survived by nine children: Cecil (Pat) Rolfe of Viroqua, Anne (Joe) Stoltz of Cazenovia, Colleen (Dan Morgan) Connelly of Lake Mills, Thomas Connelly of Dodgeville, Mary Connelly of New Lenox, Ill, Michael Connelly (Lana Kochetkova) of Inver Grove Heights, MN, Rosemary (Jeff) Kruger of Sparta, Patricia Connelly (Terri Fritz) of Fond du Lac, and Timothy (Robin) Connelly of Westby; one sister Sherlia (Clarence) Jeffers of LaFarge; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin in 1986; three children: Patrick Connelly, James Connelly, and Carron Olson; brother, Merrill Rolfe; special friend, Virgil Knutson, and grandson, Logan Connelly. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 5, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the LaFarge Free Methodist Church. Pastor Mark Phillips and Bonita Dorschied will officiate with burial in the Bear Creek Cemetery, rural LaFarge. A visitation will be held on Wednesday from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. and again on Thursday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church. The Vosseteig Funeral Home of LaFarge is serving the family.
