Thelma D. Holte, age 92 of Westby, died Sunday, April 10, 2011. Thelma D. Holte, age 92 of Westby, died Sunday, April 10, 2011. She was born on September 15, 1918 in Viroqua, Wisconsin to Stephen and Tillie (Gabrielson) Olson. On February 12, 1938 she was united in marriage to Orvald P. Holte and together they farmed until Orvalds death on March 5, 1974. Thelma continued to live on the farm until moving to Crestview Apartments in Westby in 2000. Thelma was a member of Westby Coon Prairie Lutheran Church, a circle and the WELCA. She enjoyed gardening and loved to watch birds. She is survived by her two sons, Orlan (Susan 'Deb') Holte of Westby and Loren (Judy) Holte of Prairie du Chien; four grandchildren: Justin Holte, Jaime (Chris) Richardson, Donna Holte and Danielle Holte; two great-grandchildren: Macy and Jaylin Holte; other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband on March 5, 1974; four sisters: Sylvia Sutter, Beatrice Sanborn, Inez Welch and Gladys Welch. Blessed be our memory of Thelma D. Holte. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 13, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. at Westby Coon Prairie Lutheran Church. Pastor Dennnis Hallemeier will officiate with burial in the Coon Prairie Cemetery. Friends may call on Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at the church. The Vosseteig Funeral Home of Westby is serving the family.
