Theodore "Ted" H. Larson

Theodore “Ted” H. Larson, age 80, of Westby/Bloomingdale, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his wife and children on Tuesday, July 26, 2022. He was born on January 2, 1942, on the family farm in Bloomingdale to Sigert Larson Sr. and Hattie (Johnson). Ted enjoyed growing up in the country and helping on the farm. Following school, he married Karen Morkrid on June 30, 1962. Together they celebrated 60 years of marriage. Ted retired from farming in 1994 and then went to work at Westby Hardwoods until his retirement. While he was farming, he also worked alongside his brothers at Larson Brothers Body Shop in Westby. He enjoyed mowing the grass at Bloomingdale Cemetery, yard work at home, teaching his boys how to do auto-bodywork, and time spent with his family. Survivors include his wife, Karen; his children, Susan Larson, Robert Larson, Rodney (Mari) Larson, Scott (Mary) Larson and Jennifer Larson; his grandchildren, Sara (Rachel Knudtson) Price, Stephanie (Nate) Leske, Megan (Eric) Cornford, Devin (Sheila) Larson, and Derek Larson; great-grandchildren, Olivia Leske and Penelope Price, Rhea, Bentley, Adeline, and Caroline Cornford, Stella, Rowan, Octavia, and Isabel Larson; special sisters, Ruby (Fred) Nevsimal and Debbie (Dan) Seekamp; sister, Margaret Inman; brothers, Art (Carol) Larson and Terry (Karen) Larson; stepbrother, Pete Olson; sisters-in-law, Diane Bross, Gloria McCarter, Shirley (Robert) Kelsey, Joan Morkrid; several nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends. Ted was preceded in death by his parents; his grandson, Brandon Larson; brothers, Sigert Larson Jr. and Dick Larson; and his sister, Rebecca Shumate. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Bloomingdale Cemetery are appreciated. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 30, 2022, at Vosseteig Funeral Home in Westby. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Ted will be laid to rest at Bloomingdale Cemetery. Following the burial, a reception will be held at the funeral home.
