Theresa Marie Finnell

Theresa Marie Finnell, age 69, of Gays Mills, passed away Thursday, September 2, 2021, at Boscobel Care and Rehab. She was born June 15, 1952, in Boscobel to the late George and Marguerite (Walsh) Brockway. She graduated from Gays Mills High School with the class of 1970. Following her graduation, she attended and graduated from Western Technical College. After moving to Rockford, Illinois, she met Gary Finnell and they were married on May 11, 1974, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Gays Mills. She worked at Cenex in Gays Mills for many years. She and Gary enjoyed traveling together. Theresa was always up for a good game of cards, bingo, a Miller Lite and a trip to the casino. Survivors include her children, Michael (Shannon) Finnell of Gays Mills, Jim (Kim) Finnell of Boscobel, Christopher (fiancée Sheena Quinn) Finnell of Richland Center and Elizabeth (Nicholas) Cullen of Boscobel; her grandchildren, Garrett, Gavin, Tyler, Jordan, Dylan, Kale, Xaric, and Ariya; her siblings, Gordon (Barb) Brockway of Lone Rock, Jerry (Nancy) Brockway of Soldiers Grove, and Pat (Tracy Hatlan) Brockway of Ferryville; brother-in-law, Jim (Augie) Keltner of Texas; many nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends. Theresa was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Gary Finnell; an infant daughter, Trisha Finnell; and infant granddaughter, Miliani Cullen. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, September 8, 2021, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Gays Mills. Fr. Tom Huff will officiate. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 7, at Vosseteig Funeral Home in Gays Mills. Additional visitation will be held at the church Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. Theresa will be laid to rest in the Gays Mills Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the St. Mary’s Catholic Church or Ocooch Mountain Rescue Squad appreciated. Theresa’s family would like to thank the various nurses and caregivers who provided care to her over the years.
