Thomas Walter Coleman

Thomas Walter Coleman, 57, of Gays Mills, WI passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 28th, 2021. He was born to the late Darold Coleman and Bonnie Coleman (Salmon) in Madison, Wisconsin. Growing up he worked on the family's dairy farm, while he attended and pulled many pranks at North Crawford High School, graduating in 1982. He stayed on the farm until attending Western Wisconsin Technical College in 1993 to become a certified ironworker. During this time he also volunteered for the Soldiers Grove Fire Department. He proudly worked with the Ironworkers Union 383 for 20 years, contributing to many of the state's bridges and buildings. On September 8th, 1990, Tom married Janet Davidson and to this union they had two daughters, Joy and Courtney. They divorced in 2004. He loved being a dad and was never shy to tell folks about his daughters. Tom was an avid Packers and Brewers fan. He rarely missed a game. He also loved the outdoors, rather it be hunting, fishing, taking his daily walks through town, or watering the flowers at the local cemetery. Tom was an avid storyteller and loved making others laugh. He never met a stranger and could talk to anyone for hours. Tom is survived by his mother, Bonnie Coleman; daughters, Joy (Jared) Coleman and Courtney Coleman of Raleigh, North Carolina; sisters, Anna (Jon) Mohrmann of Willmar, Minnesota and Carol (Dave) Parrell of Black Earth, Wisconsin; brother, Jerry (Katrina) Coleman of Soldiers Grove, Wisconsin; three nieces; five nephews; five great-nieces; and one great-nephew; as well as his granddog Jack and his grandcats Bruce and Wynonna. He was preceded in death by his father, Darold Coleman. A gathering for family and friends will be held from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 6, 2021, at Vosseteig Funeral Home in Gays Mills. A private service will follow. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Rebecca Salmon for always being there for him and assisting his girls during this hard time. Tom will be greatly missed by his daughters, family, friends, and the local community.
